Odds and Ends

Adopt a dog for the day: The Kauai Humane Society has pups to adopt for a day. Just in case you are missing your pet! https://www.homeoanimal.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-pet-adoption

Radio Station 107.9: is Kauai’s Visitor Center Radio Station. Turn it on and it gives history of Kauai and also activities to do.

Farmer's Markets- Great place to get local produce. This link will tell when and where

Fruit and Veggie stand: Go out of condo and onto the main Rd. (Poipu). If you go right and then left onto Ala   Rd. the stand is just down on your left

Koloa Park:  (2 Lighted Courts)  Located on Maluhia Road, Koloa Heading West on Kaumualii Highway, turn left onto Maluhia Road to Koloa Town.  Courts located on left almost at the end of road before Koloa Town. These are free!

Brennecke’s Deli If you get up early, you can go down and get pastries, but they tend to go fast.

Turtle Watching: right off of Brennecke’s on the rocks to the left.

Hanalei Bay : This is a FUN beach to go to IF the weather is nice. Try and call ahead to a surf shop and get a report. The rule of thumb on Kauai is the farther you head south and west, the better the weather. This beach is fun for learning to surf, paddle boarding and simple boogie boarding in Hawaii’s WINTER months. They rent boards there on the beach if you go to the very west end. It is also a great beach to walk on. In summer I hear it gets flat up there.

Makawehi Lithified Cliffs: Past Shipwreck Beach where The Grand Hyatt is, these cliffs wander all the way to Maha’ulepu. Awesome for runs and hikes. There is a hidden sink hole when you near the beach as well as an informational trail.

Grand Hyatt: The hotel tends to be picky about people who sneak into there water park, but I have heard you can buy a wrist band for a day pass. Essentially you get a room for a day. In the $100 range I think. Call and ask… 808-742-1234. It is a good rainy day filler.

Rooftop Min Golf: Just like it says. Head over to The Beach House restaurant and it is across the street on the roof!

Kukui’ula Outrigger Club: I have never done this, but it looks awesome for a long stay.
